We hope this will be a valuable educational resource for you to learn more about the issues faced by immigrants in the United States. In the world, there are millions of people in need of safety and shelter. Many come to the United States hoping to find these things, but instead face horrific treatment at the hands of our government that include but are not limited to, separation from their loved ones, psychological distress, and deprivation of their human rights. To many, the United States is their home; they grew up here, their friends are here, they are Americans regardless of what the government technically classifies them as. This is not an issue of technicalities, but of humanity.

This issue may not affect you directly. If this is the case, it is even more important that you are fully informed on what's going on in our country (including the horrific tragedies occurring daily) in order to be the best possible ally for both documented and undocumented immigrants.
